Bozga Bogdaan

Another Drawing of Bogdaan, the fighting man.  I like chasing the design of this crazy guy right now. Something about that wild beard, shit eating grin and inevitable clash of steel that surrounds him is fun to explore.  This was brush pen over pencils with grey tones in Photoshop CS5.

"Sometimes a man needs killin'." - Bozga Bogdaan.

News:
Today is the first week of the regular schedule. Every Monday I'll be updating the site with a new strip at Noon, Eastern standard time.  Each "season" should (and I stress should) run in two part arcs with a light buffer in between. The link above will send you on your way! Thanks for reading.

Bogdaan: Revisited

So I revisited Bozga Bogdaan, the fighter from the Madness at Gardmore Abbey game I'm DMing, with a speed painted version.  This was a practice in quickness and self-restraint as I feel I tend to over produce some of my art. It becomes difficult just to say "stop. no. its done. let it be messy. let the viewer fill in the details!"

This was certainly fun and actually quite liberating, so a success on that level. But, oh god, some of it so messy! Right?  But, that's a lesson for another day. Controlling form with speed.

Check out the original Bogdaan design!

And if you have any interest in Dungeons & Dragons, my Tumblr is a growing catalogue of rules, modifications and quest lines.

Character Design: Lenna

A mage in training. A friend to gnomes. A last minute addition to the adventure party.
You can see a sketch of her here.

Character Design: Sir Doro

The burden laden Sir Doro.  On who's shoulder's the party's leadership rests. Another character from the latest D&D game I DM'd.

See his battle-friend, Doro here.

I've also changed the header piece at the top of the site. I pulled that old print concept out of the closet to give it a second chance.  I think it'll be far more interesting... I mean, it has a dragon, right?

Website and Comic WIP

I've hinted at the webcomic I've been working on in the past few months and with it's launch growing so close I thought I'd share some of it's work in progress art.  You may also notice my blog has now become ricklacy.com.  This January I've been retooling my blog as a more stable home for art work and comics.  My blog is still in tact as always and all you have to do is scroll through the posts below. The sidebar will holster my upcoming comic projects as they launch and the navigation bar at the top should take care of the rest! Enjoy!
